St Matthew’s is proud to be a silver award Eco-School but would really like to become a gold Eco-School now. The children of St Matthew’s worked hard to achieve the silver award and now we are busy making plans and carrying out actions to become gold members.
In and around school we are always thinking of ways in which we can be more environmentally friendly. We think about our outdoor areas and local environment including the village of Westnewton and focus heavily on what we do indoors at school to help save energy, recycle, buy and use recycled products where possible, save water and educate others in school and out of school at home how they can help too.
Throughout the year we will be taking part in national initiatives that aim to promote global awareness on environmental issues to help save our planet for future generations.
