St Matthew’s C of E School is part of a cluster of small schools in the Wigton/Aspatria area. The Headteachers and staff from each of the schools meet, regularly, to share good practice, discuss any current matters of interest, and plan and organise a variety of different opportunities for the children to work together. The children meet, regularly, for sporting events, and also to share experiences and professionals who are brought in with areas of expertise.
St Matthew’s C of E School has also formed links with schools in the wider local area. We have developing links with the staff and children from local secondary schools including Beacon Hill in Aspatria and Nelson Thomlinson in Wigton.
Year 1 and 2 were in contact with children from a school in Dubai. Unfortunately, our contact has now returned to teach in England. We hope to form a new partnership with a school abroad during this academic year.
