Teaching Assistant

 

Reports to: the Headteacher at St Matthew’s CE School, Westnewton, Cumbria

Start date: 5th September, 2022

Pay:
PCD5, £20,043 pro-rata, term time, 10.5 hours per week

 

The Governors of St Matthew’s CE School wish to appoint a permanent, part-time teaching assistant to join our school. The position is to support across the school working with children from Reception to Year 6. The working hours are 8:30 – 12:00 on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.

The successful candidate will:

  • be passionate in supporting the learning of young people;
  • be well organised and motivated to support students of all abilities and needs;

KITCHEN ASSISTANT

 

OP3 £19,650 per annum, pro rata, term time.

The position is term time only although it will require some work/training in school closure periods.

  

Required: 5th September 2022

 

This is a permanent position. 7 hours per week (the hours of the post will normally be 9.30am and 1.15pm on Wednesday and Friday which includes a 15 minute break). 

 

We are looking for a hard-working, talented cook to support our kitchen team leader to effectively and efficiently create and deliver high quality meals provision at St Matthew’s CE School.

 

The successful candidate will:

*Be highly motivated and committed to providing high quality nutritious meals for children

*Have a good background knowledge in catering

*Have a working knowledge of the National Nutritional Standards including allergen regulations

*Preferably have at least Level 1 Nutrition and Health Awareness (including knowledge of food safety and kitchen health and safety).

*Have experience of working as a team and lone working

*Have excellent communication skills

*Have a well-organised approach

* Have the ability to relate well to children and adults

*Be willing to undertake on-going training

*Be flexible

Clerk to the Governors

 

Reports to: Chair of Governors at St Matthew’s CE School, Westnewton, Cumbria

Start Date: September 2022


Pay: £20,043 pro rata, term time,  44 hours per year

 

The Governors wish to appoint a permanent part-time Clerk to Governors to join our hard-working team. The Clerk to Governors will be accountable to the governing body and will work effectively with our co-chairs of governors, and with the Head Teacher and other governors.

 

The clerk will be responsible for advising the governing body on constitutional matters, duties and powers and will work within the broad current legislative framework. He/she will secure the continuity of governing body business and observe confidentiality requirements. The Clerk will manage the organisation, recording and administrative work of the Governing Body. Training will be offered, if necessary.

 

Tasks include preparation of paperwork for, and taking minutes at, five Governing Body meetings across the year (all are evening meetings), and support for Admissions Appeals and Exclusions processes (when necessary). It is essential that the new post-holder can use a word processing package and is competent when using the internet and emailing. It is also desirable that they have experience of clerking committees, however other relevant experience will be considered.

 

Applicants should have well developed administrative skills, initiative and personal efficiency.

 

The new post-holder must be able to work proactively and professionally under pressure to meet deadlines, and operate flexibly within the changing needs of a school. The new post-holder should be able to work flexible hours as the role involves attending evening meetings during term time, normally on a Tuesday or Wednesday. They will have excellent communication skills and a high level of personal organisation.
